SIV AND WING CONTROL TRAINING
Pure runs two-day and three-day paragliding SIV and wing-control courses in Annecy, France, Ölüdeniz, Turkey and Cromwell, New Zealand. Every course is taught in English and built around calm radio coaching, recorded flights and structured learning.

What You Bring
Your wing
Your harness with certified back protection
A reserve repacked within the previous 12 months
A helmet certified to EN 966 or EN 1077
Suitable gloves
A buff to help retain the radio earpiece
Bring the wing and harness you normally fly. Seated and pod harnesses are both accepted. If you have a two-liner but have access to a three-liner, bring both if possible. If you only have a 2-liner it’s ok, as there are still plenty of 2-liner specific exercises we can do.

Pre-course learning through ActiveAir
Annecy-only: waterproof radio and pouch, transport to launch, and access to spare wings and harnesses if a student’s equipment gets wet.
Radio requirements by destination
Annecy: Pure provides the waterproof radio, radio pouch and earpiece.
Ölüdeniz: Pilots must bring their own radio. Pure provides the earpiece and dry-bag.
New Zealand: Pilots must bring their own radio. Pure provides the earpiece and dry-bag.

Receive your welcome email
You’ll receive your ActiveAir account link to your pre-course learning, and a link to our accommodation options.

Complete your preparation
Your ActiveAir preparation includes what to expect, meeting information, daily timings, an equipment checklist, course preparation and the relevant WhatsApp or Telegram group.

Arrive prepared
Come with the required equipment and the mandatory ActiveAir preparation completed.

FFVL Insurance
FFVL insurance is mandatory for your course. It provides valuable additional cover even if you already hold other insurance. Follow our step-by-step guide to arrange the correct cover before attending.
Meetch Cancellation Protection
Meetch Cancellation Protection costs 5% of the course price and can be purchased at checkout or within 72 hours of booking. It will reimburse 100% of the course cost for accepted claims, with no excess. It is offered as an optional extra during booking.
If you cancel, you claim through Meetch. If Pure cancels or loses part of a course because of weather, Pure refunds the affected course amount 100%.
Accommodation After Booking
Accommodation is arranged separately. After booking your course, your welcome email will include a link showing Pure’s recommended accommodation options.
Weather reassurance
Mountain forecasts can change quickly, and SIV can often run in conditions that would not be suitable for normal recreational flying. In Annecy especially, the local terrain and weather patterns mean successful SIV flying is often possible even when the general forecast looks poor.
Please do not make your own cancellation decision on an early forecast. If the course has to be changed or cancelled, Pure will contact you.
